Software Testing Trends for 2023

The software industry is growing rapidly. With the increasing demand; it has become mandatory to maintain the quality of the software. There will be tremendous pressure for the development team to deliver bug-free and efficient software without the support of the testing team.
The software testing services and testing team also needs to update as per the latest and upcoming trends of the industry so that they can match the speed of the market. So, here are the new strategies that will make the upcoming year a roller coaster ride.
Shift-Left Testing: In 2023, shift-left testing is expected to become a universal thing. When we fix a bug at the production level it costs 50-200 times more than the cost of bug fixing at the development level. Along with that; the development stage bug fixing can save up to 10 hours of time. For that reason, shift-left testing is bound to be a popular choice for the software development lifecycle.

Data Integration in Testing Process: To automate a few testing tasks, the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) along with Machine Learning (ML) will be a great way to test acceleration challenges. So, we can expect a shift toward a more capable way in test data harvesting and software usage pattern data. It will help the machines to adopt human-like behavior while testing and exploring the software for issues.

Autonomous Testing: In 2023, we can expect a wave of autonomous testing with improved features. In this testing, the test case generation will be automated. Various new solutions are coming up that analyze the codes for software behavior and potential solutions identification.

DevSecOps: As the continuous cyber attack is raising; most companies are taking the utmost measure in digital safety. And for that, the DevSecOps adaption will be the next big thing in the coming days. When it comes to testing; the focus will be more on prevention rather than detection. We will take a proactive approach to ensure a robust security concern.

Automated Testing for Infrastructure: In the DevOps world; the latest breakthrough is the Infrastructure-as-Code. It resolves the problem of inconsistency in manual configuration with deployment infrastructure. The backup and recovery process will be streamlined in this automated testing infrastructure.

So, we can say that, in 2023, the software testing trend will be more automated. The core focus will be the detection of the issues at the earliest stage and that too with minimum human intervention.
